A BILL to amend article six, chapter five of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended,
by adding thereto a new section, designated section sixteen,
relating to requiring that all buildings that are built with
public funds and maintained with public funds shall have a
sloped roof.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article six, chapter five of the code of West Virginia,
one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be amended by
adding thereto a new section, designated section sixteen, to read
as follows:
ARTICLE 6. STATE BUILDING COMMISSION.
ยง5-6-16. Sloped roofs required.
Notwithstanding any other provision of this code to the
contrary, any building designed after the first day of April, one
thousand nine hundred ninety-seven that is designed, constructed
and maintained with public funds of the state, a county or a
municipality the design of which includes a roof, then the roof
shall have a sufficient slope so that water will not accumulate
into a pool on any area of the roof.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require that all
buildings built and maintained with public funds have sloped
roofs.
